IEEE COMPEL 2002

8th IEEE Workshop on COMputers in Power ELectronics

June 2-4, 2002

University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez Campus

Combined Oral/Interactive Format

In order to foster the interaction of workshop participants, we will follow a combined oral/interactive presentation format. There will be seven 1.5 hours sessions. Each 1.5 hrs session will consist of four papers. In the first 45 minutes half, each presentor will give a short 10 minute oral presentation about their work. In the second 45 minutes half,  we will switch to an interactive format where the authors presenting at  the session will present demonstrations and/or a poster of their work. The main idea is to foster discussions between participants in a more relaxed environment than that of more structured conferences.  We expect each presentor to participate in both activities.

We will have limited access to the Internet at the conference room so participant are highly encouraged to have self contained demonstrations.

Paper Format Instructions

All papers will be allotted four to six pages in the workshop proceedings.  There will be an extra charge of ($100/page) for papers published in the proceedings that exceed these page limits. We will follow IEEE two column format for transaction papers. Authors should follow the IEEE Word and LaTeX templates in the preparation of the final documents.

Submission Deadline

All papers should be submitted in PDF format by e-mail no later than June 3, 2002. You can also submit a disk (floppy or CD) as a backup with the electronic version of the paper at the workshop in June.

Workshop proceedings will be printed AFTER the conference takes place. We expect the delivery time to be in September 2002. Only papers from registered authors will be included in the final document.  Proceedings will be mailed to conference participants by late September early October 2002.
