Paulina R. Dávila Medal

Paulina R. Dávila was a nurse educator, a nurse manager and leader in nursing. She distinguished herself in Community Health Nursing. During Second World War she rendered volunteer service as a registered nurse. Also she was the first Puertorrican nurse to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Nursing. The degree was granted by the catholic University of America in Washington DC. As a leader in nursing in Puerto Rico she assumed the positions of president of the Public Health Association of Puerto Rico and as president of the Puertorrican Nurses Association.
