Bio:
Eduardo J. Juan received the B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, in May of 1997. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University in May of 2001. Currently, Dr. Juan is an Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Puerto Rico – Mayagüez, where he teaches courses in the areas of control systems and medical instrumentation. His research interests are biomedical acoustics and medical instrumentation and devices. Dr. Juan has a journal publication and a patent application on a miniature acoustical guidance and monitoring system for endotracheal tubes. Dr. Juan is member of Tau Beta Pi, IEEE, IEEE-EMBS, and was the recipient of the Geddes-Laufman-Greatbatch Outstanding Graduate Student Award from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue University in 1999. Dr. Juan is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. In his spare time, Dr. Juan enjoys activities such as water sports, tennis, and golf.
