About Me
I was born in Jujuy,
Argentina, just
sixty miles south of the Tropic
of Capricorn and so close to
the sky. No wonder then that I got my BS in Aeronautical
Engineering (whatever that is...) at the Universidad
Nacional de Córdoba,
Argentina.
Later I got my MS and PhD at the Univ.
of Wisconsin-Madison in a less pretentious field: Metallurgical
Engineering.
I have very few hobbies. In fact, I believe I have just one that
prevails: music, from Latin American folk to blues and classical.
In addition I enjoy Latin American and Spanish poetry, political
essays, history, novels: from Eduardo
Galeano to Jorge
Luis Borges, from Armando
Tejada Gómez to Manuel
Scorza, from Federico
García Lorca to Mario
Benedetti, from Noam Chomsky
to mi
hermano
el Che and el
Subcomandante Marcos.
I refuse to include my CV on line because I am not that haughty.
So if you happen to need it (I don't see why though), just drop
me a line...
Last but not least, if I have to choose what I can be proud of,
this is my choice: my students
wherever in the world they are now.
