Scope and Interests

The purpose of this workshop is to provide an open forum for researchers to present, discuss, and exchange research-related ideas, results, and experiences in the area of parallel and distributed computing.

The First year the workshop will be devoted to the Latin American region developments on Grid Computing. The objective of the workshop this year is two-fold: First, establish a Latin American (LATAM) Task Force on Grid Computing. Second, develop a student and/or faculty interchange program with CenSSIS schools, that would specifically look at Grid computing targeting CenSSIS applications.

The Workshop is sponsored by  Hewlett-Packard Company through a grant provided to UPRM.

Possible topics include, but are not limited to:

Grid and cluster computing
• Parallel Image processing
• Performance optimization
• Remote steering and visualization
• Distributed database systems
• Adaptive parallel applications

Attendee Registration

There is not registration fee for the workshop. If you would be interested in attending please send an email to pdcworkshop@ece.uprm.edu with the following information: Full name, Affiliation, area of interest.
