Objectives identified in pre-retreat phase for retreat held December 14-19, 1998 in Guanica, Puerto Rico:
- To expose more business, science, and engineering (BSE) students to ethical issues that arise in their areas of study.
- To train BSE faculty in ethics so that they can more effectively integrate ethics into their classes.
- To provide BSE faculty with effective strategies for integrating ethics into their classes.
- To understand better the impact of cultural issues arising from the Puerto Rican context on BSE practical and professional ethics.
- To generate cases that present ethical issues that arise from BSE teaching and practice in the Puerto Rican context.
- To establish an interdisciplinary core of faculty at UPRM to identify and carry out projects designed to integrate ethics across the BSE curriculum.
