We plan to publish a book of the cases developed during and after the retreat by the end of Summer 1999. It will contain, besides the cases, schematic summaries of the
ethical approaches and issues presented during the retreat: utilitarianism deontlogy, virtue ethics, autonomy and ethical development, ethical aspects of risk, ethics in scientific research, and ethics in
technology. The book will also contain suggestions for teaching cases in the classroom, including the decision making, case analysis, and problem classification models presented during the retreat by the
retreat advisors. In August 1999 we plan a meeting with the retreat participants to work on the dissemination of the cases developed during the retreat. Our goal is that each
participant will teach one or more cases in his or her classes and then, along with the students, evaluate the effectiveness of the case. We are preparing presentations and papers
to disseminate the cases and other results of the retreat to audiences in North and South America. Case Book |
