A two day workshop  held on April 24-26, 1996 and funded by the Puerto Rican Foundation for the Humanities, provided an opportunity for teachers and practitioners in physics, biology, chemistry, and engineering to present on what they saw  as ethical issues arising in their teaching and practice.  These activities helped retreat organizers to identify needs and structure workshops to respond to those needs.
