BMP Logger | ||
The Biochemical methane potential (BMP) analyzes if a certain organic residue can be properly degraded, producing a biogas containing methane (CH4). The HATCH team uses decomposing material in closed chambers to study the generation of biogas. Once the gas is free it goes through a filtration process which is monitored by the logger and later the production of methane is measured as a function of time and volume. The HATCH research team at the Agricultural Engineering and Biosystems department has an existing system measuring the methane production. They are capable of controlling the experiment, measuring and saving the data, but it requires the HATCH tram to visit the lab in order to extract and analyze the data. For this project, the CALY team plans to develop a prototype capable of controlling the experiment, measuring, saving, and publishing the data to a web database where the research group can monitor and analyze results from a remote location. |

Huella Deportiva 2.0 | ||
Huella Deportiva App is the continuation of capstone project Huella Deportiva Web. Huella Deportiva Web is a communication platform that allows Huella Deportiva's administrators to upload official UPRM sports related content into a centralized platform. Currently, users have access to content, such as sports events, games schedules, player and team statistics, teams and rosters, and play-by-play information for volleyball. Huella Deportiva App aims to provide access to official UPRM sports information, as well as news feed articles, live streaming, and expand play-by-play features for other sports. The team from the Skootel company weekly determines the "drop strategy" of their micro-mobility vehicles (skootels)--this means where, how many and when to put skootels in specific areas. Unfortunately, there is a lack of software tools to aid in the analysis and development of insights for the operator team. The project goal is then to build a system that will help make these "drop strategy" decisions data-driven, automated, and informed. |

Bocado Online Food Ordering Web Site | ||
The project proposes an online food ordering web site to eventually replace the call-in option of the Tapas Bar and Restaurant in Moca. The ordering system will allow customers to view the restaurant's menu beforehand, prepare an order, receive an approximated wait time and finally pay for the order. Customers would then arrive to the restaurant when the wait time is done and pick up their orders, minimizing the amount of time they will need to wait on-site, emptying the queue order faster, and also minimizing the infection risk for all parties involved. It will also allow the restaurant's owners to manage their business online, allowing them to change their menu, contact information, work hours, amount of orders or even enabling or disabling the online ordering feature on a situational basis |
