Project: A Chess Game Application specialized for the Totally Blind

Chess fans, whether they have visuals disabilities, or not, should be able to take advantage of the current technology in order to practice chess. Even though there are several chess applications for the Android operating system, none of them really cater to the needs of totally blind users. That’s why it is proposed to design an application that permits a blind player to be able to fully have use of the features provided.

Project: UPRM Student Catalogue System

UPRM Student Catalogue System aims to improve the recruitment process for UPRM Placement Office, recruiters and students. With a web-based application, students will be able to create and manage a profile that will consists of their personal and academic information, their skills, and their resume. Placement Office staff and recruiters will be able to search and filter students by any of the previously mentioned fields. Also, recruiters can save the students that match their needs and save them to their candidate folder.

Project: Network Anomaly Detection Suite

The Network Anomaly Detection Suite is an extensible and configurable platform built to the detect and notify users whenever a network loop or protocol (SSH/SMTP) intrusion is detected in the UPRM’s ECE IT department.

Project: Étude

The objective of our project is to build a responsive cross-platform web-based application that provides bilingual Spanish/English education in musical terminologies and musical theory training in drawing notes on the staff; major and minor scales; and identifying intervals and triads for Puerto Rican music students. This application will be the first bilingual solution on the market capable of running on mobile or computer web browsers without Internet connection.

Project: Blue Transaction.

Our team aims to establish a new standard for the Fast Food Drive-Thru experience by integrating Bluetooth Low Energy Beacons, BLE Beacons for short. BLE Beacons that physically engage and interact with the clients using their mobile phone or car infotainment system through an application designed by our team. This application, once in the range of the Drive-Thru, will acquire the menu and current offers from the Fast Food by connecting with the online service.

Project: UPRM Career Management System

Web Hunters has the objective of designing and implementing a new web-based content management system for the UPRM’s Placement Office that will provide an enhanced experience for companies, students, and the Placement Office employees. This content management system will provide companies the ability to create and edit their company profiles, post job positions, and the capability of adding extra data and request on campus services. In addition, administrators will be able to manage the content that is displayed on the web application.

Mak Solutions

The objective of this project is to develop an emergency alert system composed of a wearable device and a mobile application designed to accommodate users with such problems.

NewsBackBox Automated spoken‐media monitoring system

Public figures need to be able to know when they are mentioned by media outlets so they can react on a timely and well coordinated manner to protect or enhance their public image. Current solutions are humans monitoring different media providers. Our project goal is to solve this by developing an automated monitoring system that will provide notifications and discovery tools for our users.

MULTI-DIMENSIONAL DISPLAY

Multi Dimensional Display (MDD) is a persistence of vision display device that composes an image by means of rapidly moving a column of LEDs along a cylindrical path. This machine comprises of a rotating arm with LEDs that emit patterns of light at calculated times to form an image. The system has a friendly web user interface that can be accessed through Wi-Fi by anyone who has a cell phone or computer.

Restaurant Administration & Sales System

SRMS will provide “Al Grano,” a new familiar restaurant in Caguas, a system that will have the capability to store and manage information of orders, deliveries, inventory, and employees worked hours. In addition, create reports to allow the owners to have a better understanding of the revenue they are having at the restaurant.

Decision Support System for Medical Device Development

To continue the design and implementation of a decision support system for medical device development. It is a web-based application that follows all the stages of the medical device development process.

DynoCloud: Exotic Pet Habitat Monitoring and Control System

DynoCloud is and interdisciplinary team composed of six computer and electrical engineers; working together to create an IoT solution capable of monitoring and controlling the climate of an exotic pet enclosure, remotely through the internet.

Flood Atlas A web-based tool for generating Flooding Vulnerability Profiles per Puerto Rican municipality

Ronin Studios proposes to build Flood Atlas, a web-based tool for generating Flood Vulnerability Profiles for Puerto Rican municipalities, in which data collection and processing is automated, and reports and visualizations are generated.

Dynamic software: Cross-Platform Point of Sale System

Desktop Cross-Platform Point of Sale software for carrying out transactions of sales. The system will be able to provide user control, inventory management and daily sales reports. The software will be interfacing with a cash drawer, receipt printer and barcode scanner.
