MISSION

    The mission of the Department of General Engineering is to support the engineering degree-granting departments by teaching fundamental courses in engineering and related fields.  Furthermore, the departmental faculty teaches advanced graduate courses, conducts scientific research, and offers service to the communities of Puerto Rico, the U.S., and Latin America.

VISION

    The Department of General Engineering will strive to be the most resourceful department for supporting the engineering degree-granting departments in the development of professionals in engineering science and related fields, in the development of new engineering programs, and in supporting interdisciplinary research at the University of Puerto Rico.
